Hi all! The June prompt is here, it's another character design challenge, yay!
Be sure to upload your entry on the Critique Arena website to officially enter the contest, but post here too so we can all see and comment on your beautiful work! As always, keep this thread for final images only
This month’s prompt comes to us from Jake Parker, here’s the details:
“Meet Albert! He’s furry, fun, and always getting into trouble.
Follow the adventures of this mischievous mammal in this imagined new series of books for kids.
Your assignment is to design a new character that would potentially be in books, a PBS animated series, stuffed animals, and a learning app for kids.
The character's name is Albert. He's a young mammal of some kind. You pick!
Albert is furry and the size of a kindergartener. Albert was a wild animal that is now living with a family. He is learning how to have manners, how to be responsible, make friends, and how to help out around the house.
He's cute, playful, a little mischievous, and kind.
He should have some item of clothing on him, like a hat, shirt, pants, shoes. But ONLY one.
What we want from you is a character design sheet for Albert.
Every entry must have 5 color drawings on ONE page:
-1 neutral pose front, 3/4 view
-1 neutral post back, 3/4 view
-1 walking or running pose
-1 sitting pose (ground or chair)
-1 close up of face
What can you do to make the character stand out from ALL the other designs of furry friends for children you've seen? Think of the character's background, personality, wants, and needs. All of these attributes will play an important role in the creativity of your design.
Allright, good luck!”
