@drawnbyshawn I'd recommend checking Clip Studio out Shawn. I've only started using it recently, but it has so many great options for drawing comics.
Part of Jake Parkers Making Comics Course missing?
-
Hi everyone, I've been LOVING @Jake-Parker's Drawing Comics course, it's been an inspiring thing to watch, I'v only got one problem:
On the Prepping a Page section the video cuts out at 23:26, right in the middle of Jake describing how he sets things up in Manga Studio (aka. Clip Studio) where he says "what's cool is, if you double-click this..." and the video abruptly ends. Does this happen to anyone else? Is there a full version available that I can see somewhere?Any help people can give would be hugely appreciated.

Talk about a cliffhanger, haha.

Looks like it happens for me too. I'd contact SVS directly!
-
We'll check it out and get back to you!

@DavidCousens Jake is going to re-record that bit. Thanks for the heads up!

@DavidCousens How coincidental. I just happened to finish that class a couple of days ago. I did notice that drop off, and was going to make a note of that, but I don't use Clip Studio myself so I kind of forgot about it.
When it gets updated I may have to just check it out though. (It's always good to see how things are done in other software.)

@DavidCousens Yeah, I hear a lot about Clip Studio, especially for creating comics. I may have to give it a try. They have a pretty generous 3 month trial, which is nice. I mainly use Procreate now, which is a ridiculously good value since you buy once (and I think I bought it for $6 or something like that a while back). A bit of a bummer that Clip Studio is a subscription if you want to use it on an iPad, but it is pretty reasonable and I'm ok with that when it's something I get value out of.
-
@drawnbyshawn I'd forgotten that it was subscription on an iPad Shawn! I had in my head that Clip Studio was basically a one off payment like it is on Mac/PC. Completely agree with you, Procreate is outstanding value.
-
@DavidCousens Yes, but there are no comic-specific tools in Procreate. That's where Clip Studio may have a real advantage and is worth trying out. (I have a plan to eventually get a larger Cintiq-type device as well, so the fact that Clip Studio is on both PC/Mac and iPad is another plus.)
To be honest, the biggest hurdle may be getting/creating a brush that "feels" like my go-to inking brush in Procreate, which I have tweaked over time to be just like I want.
