@davidingalls I love this! Earlier in my life I was a musician playing the college market in the U.S. Somehow that evolved into a radio career and I always missed playing music. So now, whenever I get the chance, my friend and I play French instrumental ballads on sidewalks in whatever city we find ourselves in. She plays mandolin and I play accordion. We don't do it for money. We do it for the atmosphere it creates for those who pass by. I always hope that there is someone hearing us in the distance, not knowing where the music is coming from, and somehow being touched by its magic. Especially if it manifests itself as romantic magic. Thanks for the dreamy artwork you have created. It just brightened my morning!
AUGUST COMPETION TOPIC: MUSIC

Hello to all of you art buddies!
I'm fairly new to the SVS, and completely fresh on the forum. It is just amazing seeing all the different art work here on the forum, so inspirational. So I also wanted to give it a try myself and share my illustration for the contest.
I wanted to depict different things music can be: a connection to someone else or another place, joy, freedom, optimism, or an escape to something pleasant..
I hope you'll like it -
@pilonya Awesome!

@naters-calderone Great job communicating the frustration with learning an instrument! Looks like my 7 years of classical guitar!

@missmushy This is lovely! I know how exactly it sounds like

I just want to say that this is the friendliest group of competitors I have ever known. Not only is everyone very supportive of everyone else, but everyone is so very (amazingly) skilled and talented. The camaraderie expressed in this forum and because of this competition is (or should be) a template for all competitions. (Note: I am refraining from using the word "politics").
