Of the topics you listed the 'process-with-commentary' and 'colour palette' intrigue me the most. But if you do a tutorial on anything I'll definitely watch it!

The Etherigton Brothers (awesome British comic book artists - look them up!) are launching a social media buzz in January called „Learnuary“ and invite all artists to post tutorials on social media channels to help other artists out - any topic welcome. I do not usually do tutorials (I feel I have too much to learn myself to pretend to be able to teach anyone), but the couple of videos I did more than a year ago about ProCreate have whipped up a lot of following and I always feel guilty that I haven`t done anything else since.
So I was thinking of doing a video or two for Learnuary. What would you think is the most interesting?- Simple process video with commentary;
- A think or two about perspective that I feel are not made clear enough in perspective courses (I would call it „What I learnt about perspective that I wished I had known before“);
- Five ways to set up a perspective grid in less than five minutes;
- How to define and manage a color palette;
- Tips and tricks in Photoshop (little known stuff that I found out along the years)
- My approach to keeping a sketchbook (which I think is a little different than standard and may help people who have difficulty keeping a sketchbook);
- Any other ideas?

I would be interested in the little known things about perspective. I have poured over perspective books trying to find answers for weird situations or at least what I think are weird. Maybe they follow normal rules but I can’t figure out how. One, for example that I kept wondering about was the vanishing points of something falling from the sky which will not be parallel to the ground plane.
I’d also be interested in your sketch book approach. I love looking at artists’ sketchbooks and seeing their process.

@smceccarelli Well, they ALL sound good to me! I always need help with perspective so, those definitely would be the ones I choose for myself. It is always great to watch a process video with commentary.

Thank you all! I guess I will start with one on color palettes and then see if I can go on with perspective and sketchbook (I had actually already shot a sketchbook video but I was so nervous I garbled up all I wanted to say. It’s better if I do not try to talk to the camera, I think ;-))

I’ve been exporting timelapses from Procreate and it’s gathering quite a bit of social media interest. Really easy since I’ve already done the work. I use lumafusion iPad app to speed up the time so that the time lapse plus a close up. Then drop on a soundtrack. Keep it all under two mins. So as well as specific tuts let you work speak for itself. Nit as awesome as what your suggesting, but perhaps time lapse to promote the other? Here’s what one of mine looks like. Vimeo btw is recommended for some reason. Also I upload natively to Facebook, so views there are substantially higher than the zero views on YouTube LOL.

I've never made a video, so you're ahead of me, no matter how it turns out!
Maybe you could record the sound separately? You could also try adding text instead of audio. Just some ideas. Good luck!

@miriam @Andyg thank you for your thoughts! I have already done some videos using ProCreate recording function a little more than a year ago - and talked on top.

I do not use ProCreate that much at the moment - so I´ll have to capture my screen with the QT player.... -

A video where people can see you talking would be nice. Yes, Will & Jake's videos are great and they seem so relaxed. Keep practicing, and you'll get more comfortable with it! Imagine that you are just talking to a friend. Maybe that will help! I remember one job interview where I told myself I was just going to meet my new work friends, and it worked!I'll check out the video you posted. I don't know anything about ProCreate, so it should be interesting. I've used Photoshop in the past, but I've been using GIMP lately.

Thanks for sharing your video. It was fun to watch & I really like how you zoomed in on the details of the monocle and chain at the end. I'm a beginner & would love commentary on how to achieve these kinds of effects, so I'm looking forward to watching the Learnuary tutorials. Oh, & you're up to 7 views on YouTube now--ha, ha! -
@miriam haha! It’s prob cos I uploaded as unlisted as well. It’s really easy. Get a YouTube account. Record in Procreate. LumaFusion has all the settings in export.to zoom in you just literally do a key framing. Really easy.

And thanks for letting us know how easy it is to make a process video with procreate @Andyg, I actually just got the app last week and I'm not super comfortable with it yet, but I've been wondering how process videos are made and I'm glad to know its relatively simple. I do most of my work in Adobe Illustrator though, so I'll have to figure out how to show that in a video someday.
