Been working on this on and off for a few months for fun, would love some feedback. I'm trying to be more 'painterly' but I'm struggling with it looking too digital or sterile. Any ideas on how to not do that, or any ideas on how to improve this as a whole?

@Tom-Harshberger it's really good mate. I struggle with this problem all the time. More textured brushes help. I downloaded some of Justin Gerrard's brushes and they make it easier to avoid the smooth look. I do master studies of images that have the brush work I like as well.
-
@MarcRobinson ah thanks I'm going to look into that. I love his art but didn't realize he did brushes. Thanks!

It's officially SPOOPY SEASON (according to me)
preparing for a local art festival next month and this is one of my prints.

@Zachary-Schrage I love your pen and ink work. I'm curious -- is this traditional or digital, and how long did it take you to do this piece? It is so intricate and detailed that I'm guessing we are talking weeks rather than hours!

@demotlj 100 % traditional dip pen and ink! uhhh took me a few days. They dont take as long as they appear

You,ve done it again. Love zooming in on each quadrant, each one its own lil masterpiece. Especially love the handling of the sky and moon, that’d be a very daunting area for me using pen and ink, that creature in the top floor! -
@Zachary-Schrage Amazing work! Love the details so much!

In a creative slump so I decided to do a master study of one of my favorite illustrators, Holly Hobbie with her Toot and Puddle books.
