12 days of Christmas challenge

@Larue I love it! No rules say you canβt sketch them and finish them later
-
@Larue so cute!

@chrisaakins These are looking great! I wish i had time to participate in this, but December is always so crazy for me. But I'm enjoying following along with your illustrations! Thanks for sharing.
-
@chrisaakins Superb!!

@Rafael-Morales-III I love the idea of making your images look like a kid's book! How did you get that effect? Are you using mockup?
-
@kirsten-mcg Thank Kirsten, I did not use a "mock-up" per say. I Just added rectangles with linear gradients to create this effect. I went ahead and tried my best to explain my process to mimic the book illusion. I hope I was able to clearly explain it.

@chrisaakins Thanks for starting this thread.
Work in progress! Slightly nervous about posting this as I'm new to Photoshop so experimenting with that plus I'm trying to be open to different styles and just see where it takes me. It is a bit weird but it's my take on the Sugar Plum Fairy - sugar plum fairy relaxing on a bed of sugar plums heavily coated in sugar which is spun from her hair and hand. That was the idea anyway - what's in my head is not coming out onto the screen a fair bit of the time. -
-
@chrisaakins the mice are so cute! Love the silhouette of the mouse writing and the white one. The letters look awesome.
-
@Rafael-Morales-III Awesome! Thanks so much for taking the time to show me! I'll have to try it.
-
@Jean-Watson awesome concept. The sugar-plum fairy appears to be content and completely lost in a sugar coma. This is great work for a just learning PS. I like how you just boldly worked around the subject matter. Stay bold, you're only going to get better!
-
@chrisaakins I'm completely smitten by your mice!
-
@kirsten-mcg Your welcome! Sorry it was to small to see the fine print. If you need a larger version, I'll email it to you.
-
@Rafael-Morales-III Thanks - sugar coma is exactly what I had in mind. Also, not a dainty fairy lol - she's had far too much sugar over her lifetime! Thanks for the encouragement - I'm having fun experimenting and am just trusting the process.
-
@Rafael-Morales-III I was able to zoom up on it and read it just fine.
-
@Chantal-Goetheer thanks! If I learned nothing else on SVS I learned silhouettes
-
@kirsten-mcg awesome
