I have not totally decided what font or design yet, I just threw something in there haha. I actually find the Cap very distracting. Probably the reading from left to right that we dont consciously think about. The vertical one lets me see the house first which may change after you put in value and color.

The hippo background is especially nice. It shows dimension where some of the others are blurred and flat.

Thank you Matt for the comment. I agree that the texture is a bit much and it's great that someone else can 'see' it as well. Think I'm going to let this piece rest for a while and work on something else.

@Andy-Meeker This is a lovely piece. The colours are perfect and I love the new cut cactus to add more perspective. there is one slight change I think may add to this. I hope you don't mind me saying. The girl with her hand over the boat - her has is a bit of a tangent, if it was out slightly and dragging the sand, as if it was water, with wake behind it. Just a thought. Awesome work.

@Rob-Smith Yep, thats a good gesture, the thing is that in real life her eyes are really this dark, and the irises are not visible. But I could have given her a gesture of, it might work, ill try some! Thanks.

@Jana Thanks for the encouragement and feedback! 🙂 I almost always have that sketches > polished problem when it comes to drawing humans from imagination, and it's probably largely due to my need for a better understanding of anatomy and more life drawing practice. I need dynamic reference. 😛

@seanwelty You are absolutely right. And I did change the pose consciously for reasons involving the my confusion about the perspective and lack of reference for it, but I am definitely scrapping it in favour of going back and finding that original gesture! Thanks a lot for taking the time to crit!

I will shoot some reference with my brother this week, and work on exaggerating and capturing the movement of the pose.
