Unfinished comp sketches for comic!
-
Hey SVS! What do you think about these comp sketches? Do they read well? Comments and critiques always welcome! Thanks you!

@aliciaadley900 thanks! But this isn’t an assignment, this is my personal project
-
@phoenix-yip I think that was a spam bot...
I think it is reading well. I love reading comics but haven't tried reading/drawing so take my feedback with a grain of salt.

The 4th to last page seems pretty busy. 11 panels seem out of proportions with the pacing of the others. You get to that many in a few other places but they seem to be action sequences with make multiple panels feel like one (to me).

The last page is a huge deviation from all of the rest. A ton of text crammed in a little space. That is not an uncommon trick to get a bunch of exposition in (and I am glad it is not in the middle) but if you are continuing on this page will feel like a huge transition. Just watch it with this kind of shift. It can be used expertly (like always start each new transition with exposition or end each section with exposition) but this can really do weird things to your pacing.
Just my thoughts.

@theprairiefox thank you! This helps a lot,I do agree there is a lot of text. If you mean if the comics continuing after that last page, it’s not, that’s where it ends. Do you think I should stretch that last page to two pages? It does feel a little crammed it might be good to give it some space to breath.

@theprairiefox
So I changed page 11, and split it into two pages, which is at the very bottom, what do you think? -
@phoenix-yip those look more consistent with the rest of the pages. Looking good.
-
@theprairiefox thanks!

@theprairiefox hey! Sorry to bother you, but your advice is really helpful what do you think of these comp sketches that are if the last page of the comic, that you said was really busy, I split it into three pages
-
@phoenix-yip I think those are looking good. I really like the pace slowing down and focusing on the last page with just the two panels. I think it is a good finish to feel to it.

@theprairiefox great! Thank you!
