FebbieG Sketchbook (Debra Garcia)

I'm a Homeschooling Housewife in Central Texas, with aspirations to illustrate (and I always have had those aspirations)
I'll be posting doodles and whatnot, since in this stage of life I don't have a whole lot of time to do finished pieces without sacrificing more important things.

A couple sketches/doodles I did while assisting in a cryptozoology class at our co-op.
She said mermaids are half human and half fish. Shrug

Hi Debra! Thanks for sharing your sketches- they're really fun. I like that the mermaid has flipper shoes. It's the perfect touch,

We do what we can with what we have, right?
Keep on postin' sketchbook pages. It's always nice to see other people's work!

Playing with textures. Cheap paintbrushes really are a lot of fun to work with.

I surprised myself today, and was able to work some more on this piece from last fall. I love it and hate it all at once, and I think that's because it's not finished, and because I've changed in the past year. But... "Finished, not perfect", right?
-
I finished it!
Sigh of relief I feel so good right now.

@Debra-Garcia Love it! Great touch with the all the little details that reinforce that the kid is tiny. I love the spider webbing as the ropes on the leaf/parachute :smiling_face_with_open_mouth:

I really like your mermaid. They never said which half was fish.
Your finished piece is so cute! I love the little acorn hat.
