Hi ! following Lee's class I put together a board of my favourite works, not quite 20 but building up to it, I wonder if anyone would help me to find out the common thread , from what I can see, I am drawn to colour more than B/w, cold warm clear contrasts, more painterly look than graphic, nature as theme, more realistic style than abstract, but still a kind of stylized rendering, the drawing is present but again a bit stylized, yes to the decorative aspects,.... but I know that after a while of looking, I can't see anything else!
Any constructive help is super appreciated!
      Thank you community!

Uhm, I also add my own board
      my own best.jpg

I can see that many of my images have a higher level of saturation ( mainly because they are used as greeting cards and that brings the customer attention, I suppose... ) but I am drawn more to subtle colour combinations...

        Hi,

I loved doing this dream portfolio but honestly I keep remaking it.

But enough about me; so a few things I have noticed:

        1. Pattern and/ repetition: 2, 3, 8, 10, 14, 15, 17, 18 Varies between subtle background and main focus.

        2. Use of negative space and/or single element background (this always stands out since I like it): 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18 (last girl reading)

        3. Centre portrait of your characters: 5, 6, 10, 11, 13, 14, 17, 18

        I hope that helps, 🙂

@Lucelfo I definitely see a common color palette. Also there is a combination of graphic and 3-dimensional. Also simple backgrounds where your eye gets a chance to rest. They look like beautiful aspirations!

@holleywilliamson Thank you for taking the time to tell me what you saw. Very interesting observations , specially about combination of rendering and flat styles.. THANKS!
