Hey guys! Just doing a threat for this month's contest in case anyone has some feedback to throw in, which is as always much appreciated.
I am considering a few topics. For now, I have worked up a sketch I quite like for this one, after doing two thumbnails:
"It is an old English superstition that a child riding on the back of a bear will be protected from whooping cough. "
It's a bit of an obscure one, so I might try a few different topics, but I still want to finish this one because I like the drawing so far. What a strange superstition though! How rarely would they ever have been able to act on it? Perhaps it came about as a way to give parents an obscure way to treat and protect their child when it was in fact rather hopeless. Or maybe back then a spirit bear walked from village to village inviting ill children onto its back. I prefer that.
