I am definitely going to try and participate in this one - I love winter scenes and I could also use the color limitations to learn from. Any proposed deadline on when we need to have a piece ready by?

@Leontine Challenged me in another thread to create a winter scene using mostly blue with one complimentary color.
So I'm challenging @Leontine and anyone else in the forums to do the same. This will be fun and challenging assignment. No prizes or money will exchange hands : ). Just a good ole fashion challenge that might end up in your porfolio!

@Dulcie, @Rich-Green please do! Deadline? Good question. no idea, lets say before xmas? XD I ve already started sketching. Think about my country, The Netherlands. Its very small, and we don't have mountains. we do have snow, Iceskating (where the best), nice houses, windmills and canals. I try and make an illustration that will give you the dutch winterfeeling....

We may be worn out with winter scenes if you want to participate in this challenge and December's 3rd Thursday challenge which will have to do with Santa's alternative transportation.

@Leontine Great image!! I like the simplicity of the background yet it reads clearly. A little hat for the bird...very cool. I'm going to have to work harder!! : ).

Okay all and @Leontine here is my challenge piece. Comments and critiques are very welcome. Working digitally has been a steep learning curve.
Changes made to the original image based on suggestions by @seanwelty(ice made more subtle), @Leontine(warmth added) and @lonelycatpress(darkened a few areas to improve contrast)

I'm in, I'll do this tomorrow morning for my warm up. I need to step away from my 3T piece, too much elf stuff in my head. I think I will do some fan art piece more to my liking. Hope everyone likes Red Sonja...
