      Hey everyone,
I am nowhere near my goal of illustrating a children;s book eventually, but was curious about who adds the text to an illustration.........job of artist or does that happen with the publisher? thanks!

Hi 🙂 It's usually the publisher!
If you're working on an educational book then they will give you a rough layout so you'll know where the text is going already and you can then plan your illustrations around it.
If you're doing a picture book by an author then they usually tell you which text is going on each page, but you may have creative freedom to plan where that text will go and how it will be incorporated into the illustration 🙂
