Garden gates sketch...critique help!

Hello guys! After following the creative composition class (first version) I am starting to build entire scenes and I came up with this one, and I wonder if you could help me to improve it before I take it too far... in the centre , there are garden gates..i imagine a little visual story where the girl in the bottom left is about to enter this quirky place .. I placed a little white path that connects the many gates, or do you think is better to just scatter them around? Value wise, I'm planning to try dark cold colors in the foreground foliage , and warm colours at the centre, with accent colors on those gates. The girl will have a dark value as she is almost on white background! so what do you think?
