Travel in a far country

'We must walk open-eyed into that trap, with courage, but small hope.... For, my lords, it may well prove that we ourselves shall perish utterly in a black battle far from the living lands; so that even if Barad-dรปr be thrown down, we shall not live to see a new age. But this, I deem, is our duty. And better so than to perish nonetheless โ as we surely shall, if we sit here โ and know as we die that no new age shall be.'

This is nice. I think I'd blend the images on the flags a little bit - mostly the tree.

Hi Tracy,
Thank you-- here is a modified version
I think is does help to focus attention on the riders, so cool. @TwiggyT
(if it looks soft I compressed the snot out of it) -
@w-coats
Yes, the flags fit in now--much better! I was thinking they were stealing the attention away from the cavalry, too. It looks good! -
@miriam Thank you Miriam, I appreciate your point of view.

I love the colors, was this done on textured paper or did you simulate it digitally? Either way it's cool. My only critique is that the heavy black line on the flag to the far right wants me to believe its in front of the green flag when it is the other way around. I would soften that edge a bit to drop it slightly behind the green one. All in all, love this.

Oh yeah, that's much better!

I love the perspective of this drawing: the seal and old paper in the foreground really add to the feeling of an old tale being told! Love your style too, really cool!!
