The time has come. I can't get a new driver for my cheap old off-brand tablet, and its time to level up.

Who here has a cintiq? Does anyone have one of the alternative brands, like yiynova or huion? What has your experience been? Is a cintiq really so much better that its worth paying double, or are the alternatives worthwhile as well?

Any experiences to share or any other knowledge that would help me in choosing are also appreciated.

I just have a cheap wacom for now.

Take a look at the apple ipad pro coming out in November. That's what I am seriously considering.

I had a wacom bamboo for awhile, I did all I needed. But a mid ranged wacom tablet is good enough. On piece of advice don't get a large one.

Never give up, always push yourself two steps further than you believe you can go.

I currently have an Intuos 3, which still works great after all these years (I look up the dates and it was released in 2004!). So I think that's a bit of a testament to Wacom's quality. That being said, I'm finally going to be updating to a tablet monitor soon. The Cintiq are far out of my price range, but I'm going with an Ugee that looks really good and is much more affordable. I did quite a bit of research so I have high hopes for it! Once I test it out I'll come back and let you know what I think (if you haven't already made a decision by then).

hi there, I've tried a Intuos, but I am a left-right handed person. (drawing writing I do left, but holding thy mouse on the right hand) So its really difficult for my hand-eye coordination. A year ago I bought a Cintiq (second hand) and it has really changed my life. I feel so happy using it, since that day I draw every day, at home as well as at the office. I even bought a new suitcase to take it to the office. Now I am saving to buy a 13", so that I can take it on a vacation. It is worth the money for sure!

Thanks for the thoughts, guys. After asking some other friends and looking at a whole lot of reviews, I've decided to go with a 22 inch yiynova. This made sense for me because my husband and I have been talking about getting me a new monitor for a long time now, and then once it became clear that my cheapo old tablet wasn't going to cut it any more, it made sense to get a tablet monitor rather than a separate tablet and monitor. I'll let you guys know how I feel about it once I've put it through its paces. 🙂
