Art Drop 2015 - My art and experience!
-
First of all I want to thank @jake-parker for this amazing idea and event!
I had so much fun creating a specific piece of art (featuring the location I "dropped" the piece at in the scene). I had even more fun "dropping it today, sharing a video clue as to where it was hidden and then seeing the excitement it stirred up on my social media sites.
I first got notification from folks who got to the spot but the art was already gone. And then I found out that a little boy and his Mom went on the hunt for it this morning and they GOT IT!
Being that we all love creating art for children and children's books it made me so happy to find out this little guy got it.
If you would like to read a bit more about the concept for my art piece, its location and the winner I created a full post about it on my website at:

Can't wait to see who else joined in this fun today and what art they created for it and how their experience went!

I saw this on instagram
lovely piece! I wanted to do an art drop, but had nothing worth dropping

Thank you so much @Lynn_Larson! I just found the entire experience so much fun. From picking out the location, creating the piece of art in a new style I experimented with and then finding out who found it...so exciting!
I highly recommend you consider doing it in the future. Even if it is not on the official Art Drop day - once you have a piece you enjoy and want to share - do it! You will find it such a rewarding experience, I promise!

I had so much fun with the first one I decided to make a second copy and do another drop. The clue went a little something like this:
Did you ever notice that there is one of those Joliet columns out in front of the library? The sculpture features a man reading books and he is sitting ontop of an art book. Neat huh?
Speaking of books did you know that there is a book in the library about the entire column art project, the artists who created them, a map to all of their locations and photos of each of them along with a poem to go with them?
Really cool right?
I was so excited when I found that book I sure hope I did not drop anything!
