Let me know if you think the perspective is working, if the boy is reading well (is he too small?), any other tips?

@holleywilliamson Firstly, OMG that was my initial idea. Except you nailed the point of view which I couldn't make work. Good job! As far as perspective, its mostly believable. Though the hull of the boat seems to start out rounded at the bow then flatten going back to the stern. A treehouse sailboat can certainly take some liberties as long as it's consistent. The boy's size looks about right but I keep thinking I should be able to see more of his neck and the underside of his chin even though his head is tilted down. Hope this helps. Looking forward to your finished piece 🙂

@smithdraws Thank you! And thanks for your advice. I should have learned better how the bottom of a boat is built!

I really like this, great concept but I did notice that the area near the ladder seem unclear in regards to the left side of the tree it seems like the tree has a square hard edge

So fun! I agree with @rcartwright. It's also creating a tangent with the edge of the trunk.

Can't wait to see the final, this is really creative. 🙂

@holleywilliamson Certainly very tricky to depict a tree trunk going through the hull of a boat! But you've got this 👍🏻

@TessW thank you that looks much better, I couldn't figure out why the ladder was looking funny

Agree with the suggestions. I would also make the ropeladder coming to the ground wider at the bottom, to make it seem its coming closer towards you. It also seems a little out of wack to me. Cant wait to see you flesh it out more.
