Doing a picture only story for my social media
-
I recently created a schedule for my art work, and it has been working out very well for me, and even leaves me a day or so to explore new ideas. I recently started doing black and white sketches of a few thumbnails I had put together of a story I wanted to make, and also decided to upload each image to social media as a picture only story. I thought it would be a good way to show my story telling ability, as well as engage my followers on some level. Here is the beginning, and I hope to upload one each week.
This next one is still being worked on, but is almost done. Need to finish the inside of the train, add the tail, and darken some areas.
Just thought I would share this idea with other. We shall see how well it does

@Eric-Castleman these are excellent! They have such a cool feel. I love the comp of the first one especially, really love the shapes and the way the shape of the cast shadow of the pig looks. Really great stuff.

@Tyson-Ranes thanks! It has been really fun to do. I am glad you like them

Really nice work. Love the hatching style.

Oooh, feels very dreamy

Just finished the second piece, though I won't post this one until I do the one leading up to it in the sequence of events.

@Eric-Castleman Wow! That's cool! When I saw the first version of the train I thought it was going to be a really small one, only made up by the roof-part, and that the vertical-lines-between-the-windows (in lack of better vocabulary) were legs on a bridge. What a cool surprise

@Eric-Castleman These are so cool! I'm a cross-hatching junkie. This kind of work really appeals to me. I especially love the surrealism you're able to achieve by keeping the forms free of smaller details.

Thanks everyone for the great comments.
@Embla its funny. Because I never would have seen it that way until you mentioned it. I guess when I have an idea in my head it is all I can see.
@mcucchi at first it was somewhat accidental the way they came out, and when I saw that less detail seemed more story driven I ran with it.

@Eric-Castleman The contouring of you crosshatched marks is very nice. I really like the volume it creates. Well done! Just beautiful.
