@Washu Really cool stuff. Curious about the colored version! I really like how you render your colors.

@Leontine Thank you.
I can answer any questions you have about it. I use photoshop cs5. It takes me a long time to render digitally but I feel like I'm improving. For the squirrel I used a tutorial by Theresse Larsson. For the girl in armor, I have no idea how her face turned out so well but it took me like 60 hours to paint that piece. eheh ^^; Also for the armor I used a video tutorial by Jesus Conde on you tube. It helped a lot. I really struggled with it, and it's the piece I'm most proud of to date.
The couple with the aliens is an older one I painted in 2013. I was just winging it back then. I didn't follow tutorials or books.

@Washu Beautiful use of color on "white" snow, the rim light and the sun rays look great too!

@washu I am really enjoying seeing your process! i think you could start graduating from using dodge and burn (or black and white) and basic soft brushes to add light and shadow in your digital pieces and start playing with color as light! You'd blow these out of the water with that extra step!

@withlinesofink Thanks. I haven't painted in a long time and I actually feel like this piece isn't as good as ones I did a couple years ago. I couldn't get past the "dodge and burn" look. I don't actually use those tools, but what I did try had the same effect. yuck My shadows are far too dark, huh? I will try again for the 'Independent' theme.
