So I've been trying to come up with some good daily practice techniques that will really hone my drawing and illustrating skills. Obviously there is some really great stuff that go's along with the videos on SVS but I was also wondering if anyone had some techniques they used that they found helpful. I'd be especially interested in anything that helped me improve my composition abilities.

What works for me, is to have several projects going at once, one of the best is find any magazine, visual encyclopedia (the more random the better) and draw something from each page. Though the trick is not to just simply copy it. you draw it in a different view point or position. What this does is to get you to draw (the most important bit), but the variety of things you draw keep this exercise interesting, requiring different techniques for you to master.

Never give up, always push yourself two steps further than you believe you can go.
