Frog Prince critique
-
This is part of the frog prince where he goes and retrieves the princess’s ball. I’m not sure which is better based solely on composition? I’d love any other advice as well.

@Meg-Clayburn I'm kinda feeling the vertical one more, it helps emphasize the deepness of the water.
-
@StudioHannah thanks! I was worried maybe he looks too centered?
-
@Meg-Clayburn There's nothing wrong with centered subjects in a composition. Lots of great works of art are centered. It shouldn't be the default, but it's totally acceptable.
If you're worried about that though, you can always shift things to the left slightly so the golden ball is more the focus, or the frog/ball are both falling into the thirds of the page.

@Meg-Clayburn if you're worried about him being too centered try doing a few mini thumbnails just playing around with the composition and rearrange some things, try looking at the rule of thirds or other common set ups, I have similar thoughts about my own work and try these methods, hope it helps!!
