I had a lot of fun with May’s prompt. Haven’t submitted anything since 2022 critique arena days!
-
@B-rex I love your take on this prompt!
-
@Jason-Crowley this is so clever, nicely done!

Originally started this as a "Draw 50 Things" class, before my free trial ran out (enrolled now!). First submission, very nervous
-
I had a few ideas for this prompt, so thought I'd try out a second illustration as these have been really great for building out my portfolio.

@Jason-Crowley just a thought, would it be stronger if you cropped it further? My eye gets a bit lost with all the sea creatures in the bg…

Some people are doing some impressive heavy-hitting with detail! Nice work, @Jason-Crowley, @JennyWren and @Anke-Noack!

I wasn't sure what to do this month, so when in doubt...make it silly!
My natural way of drawing can often be quite stiff, and when it comes to rendering I always get lost making everything look "right". So recently I've been trying to loosen up and I hope it comes across like that, rather than sloppy. But one thing I've learnt is it's harder than it looks! My old style takes quite a while, so I challenged myself to do it in one sitting. That way I wasn't tempted into noodling with all the details.
Traditional ink drawing with digital colour in Ps.

@MarcRobinson this is great! Hilarious that "the body vanished" and its floating right above them, great work!

My submission for HTFYA for April, a lot of first for me with this submission. First submission, first time using a cintiq, first time using many of the techniques learned from watching many digital painting vids on SVS. Can't wait to get the feedback, whatever it may be, so I can start improving!

@MarcRobinson Loosening up is the hardest thing! I think you've pulled it off here.
