Unique and appealing character design
-
Hi there everyone,
I am taking the course and already enjoying @AnnaDaviscourt . I wanted to give the character line up assignment a Pakistani touch so my beauty and the beast characters are from a rural area of Pakistan.
Here is my Belle costume variation. Help me decide which one is the best. -
@Ayesha-Masood Hi Ayesha! They all look pretty good, but the ones that draw my eye are #1 and #2.
-
I like three with the framing of her face with vail but like that there’s the option to drop it to the shoulders for a different silohuette with in the story.
-
@tom-barrett thankyou Tom, 1 and 2 from right or left?
-
@Larue hmm. Good option. Thanks
-
@Ayesha-Masood I think 1 (left) might give you a better silhouette to contrast with the villagers
-
@Ayesha-Masood from the left...

A little update on the beauty and the beast characters.
Here’s character exploration of mrs. Potts. I am thinking of a Pakistani/indian setting hence the costume is inspired by the village life of sub-continent.
And heres the beast variations
Which one should i choose?
-
@Ayesha-Masood For Mrs. Potts, my favorites are the two on each end. I love the one with glasses.
For the Beast, I think you need to do some more exploration. The ones on the ends seem too young, and the three in the middle look like they could be her dad, esp #4 from left. While you don't have to keep exactly to the story, there should be some similarities so people recognize this as your version of the original character. Since the beast was first a prince, keep that in mind when creating your version. The body style you have used here seems a bit frumpy for a prince/beast.

@tom-barrett thanks tom. You’re right. Now that you have said it, these do miss the ‘beast’ element with the original character. I would definitely do more exploration.
