My 1st Kid's (Maybe Adults?) Picture Book Is OUT!
-
hello SVS bunnies,
It's been a long time since I've been active on the forums...
Life's been busy...
Many things have happened, many family members got sick this year... some with stroke, some with cancer... And, I've been trying to help as much as possible, along with juggling my own work.
But, I'm grateful for this community, and SVS teachers. Through them I've learnt a lot these last few years. And, I'm slowly gaining confidence.
After seeing many students publishing their books, and I'm really inspired to do the same.
So I finally did it...
It's a silly little book, a first time self-publishing, not a very professional piece... but, it's a journey nonetheless.
Just want to share it on the forum...
I've put it out for free for the next 5 days (it seems that's the max free days I can get on Amazon for a free run), so if anyone's interested, feel free to download and read it...
And give me some feedback. LOL!
It's not perfect, I know...
Just like @Jake-Parker says, 'FINISHED, NOT PERFECT'. To finish it is way more important than getting it perfect but not finished.
Anyways, feel free to download and enjoy it.
Here's the link to the book:

Oh, one more thing.
If you enjoyed it, and would consider leaving a review on the Amazon page. I'd really really appreciate that...
Thanks!

If it stinks, it's totally fine. Let me know what I could do better! Lol!

Congratulations @aurelia! Looks super cute!
-
@aurelia its lovely!
The heart warming mothers one is my personal favorite its beautiful
Oh You might need to update the amazon description as it shows its 0 pages.
Edit: just to kindly mention Im reading it on my ipad and there are a three images that would benefit with a bit more contrast from the background.
-
@Jeremy-Ross Hey Jeremy, thanks a lot for the kind words You're one of my inspirations as a self-published author.
-
@makekong Oh.... thank you for taking the time to read. And many thanks for pointing out the problems!
The 0 page issue is weird..., not sure how I can change that? I need to do some research.
For the contrasting issue, you're absolutely right... I uploaded this version from a print ready version, as I learnt from @Lee-White in the Children's Book Pro class, the black and white image needs to be lit up because when it prints out it tends to be too dark. And bleeds to the next page.
I guess I should upload the kindle version before I light the images up. Now I'm going back to see if I can reupload it again on Amazon. Not sure if that's allowed or not...

Some good news though:
Sales have been pouring in, and it looks like I've hit #1 New Release on Amazon!
Thanks so much everyone for all your support!
-
@aurelia I think you can, and If I remember corectly sometimes when there are uodates or fixes it even asks if you want to notify the reader
-
Thank you so much for your kind words!
-
@makekong Alright! I'll have a look and give it a try!
Thanks!
-
@Jeremy-Ross Umm... Jeremy. Was that your review?
I actually have a customer named Jenny Raymond. She told me she left a review, so I thought it was hers! Since her initials are J.R. too. LOL!
If it's yours, my apologies for the confusion, and thanks so much! I really appreciate it! LOL!
-
Yep @aurelia , thatโs me!!
-
@Jeremy-Ross Lol. Thanks Jeremy! Really grateful. The first verified review helped a lot with getting more downloads! Many thanks!
I'm still laughing at how coincidental it is. Ha ha.
-
@aurelia congratulations! This looks very interesting
-
@Nyrryl-Cadiz Oh... thanks a lot Nyrryl! I hope the audience will think the same as you do, fingers crossed.

@makekong I just uploaded the updated version of the book with the contrast filter removed. I'm not sure if Amazon sent it out yet, but feel free to let me know if Amazon gives you any notification alert on that.
I also updated the review request page. Looks like it was confusing some people when I put it in the middle. So I put it at the end instead.
