portfolio narrative piece

Hello, it has been a while since I have visited this form but I am back and want to actively participate. I wanted to share my last project I created (personal project) as a portfolio piece. My goal was to work on story telling and consistency of characters. I am dying for some feed back. Be Honest Please I can handle it.

Side Note: I was thinking of going to SCBWI conference but I can't afford it but really want to get my stuff out there. I finally feel like I am good enough or at least confident enough. Your website looks great! Remember that if you get a domain you can point it to any url you would like so its easier to share your wixsite ( I did this for an old comic I had)

@Mandy-Forte Hi Mandy! It's great to see you sharing your work. I really like how your website gets straight to the point and shows the art without loads of distractions. My favourite pieces are the purple dream image, and the coffee shop. I feel you are strongest when you have fuller illustrations with more going on. But that might be a personal preference on my part! Your portfolio is a great place to start from and you should be chuffed. If I were to offer my favourite top tip, it would be to spend more time "designing". eg. You could just draw a chair or a bed, but if you spent a bit more time making it appealing as a design in itself, then it only lifts the whole image.

@MarcRobinson Thank you for your feedback. I understand what you are saying about designing things. I have been looking at some other artists and you nailed what it is that I couldn't figure out about their pieces vs. mine. I knew I need to talk to other artists! Thanks again.
