SVS Virtual Studio JANUARY 2023

i was diving into it and trying to make this live based illustrations....i don't know if i will stick to it, but i want to get used to it, so i can use it as a daily exercise.
-
@blackhound-rise Thanks! I wanted to capture a moment in time in this scene, but still keep it open for the viewer to decide what's happening - is this the moment right after being cursed by taking the gold, or is it right before being transformed back when the curse is lifted as the coins re-enter the chest?
-
I started this on one of the prompts from quite a while back and kept getting stuck on it. I resurrected it this month. It's still a work-in-progress.
Over my holiday travel, I kept seeing exit signs and this idea kept running through my mind, so decided to draw it.

@Jeremy-Ross Love those patterns! I hope you sell bunches!
-
@Asyas_illos I really do like this bird character. Hope to see it come to life.
Went through the website and found it hard to select patterns for kids. But i did notice there were few appealing kids type patterns I found browsing different selections. Also there is no smaller size covers 110x125 for the little ones that outgrew their sleeping bags. I think there should be a market to be found there @Jeremy-Ross -
I've been so absent on the SVS forums lately! Apologies, I'm hoping to get connected with everyone again soon!
-
Hi all! Here's my latest. I'm starting on my first portfolio, working through Will Terry's "100+ things" and wanted to get the spot illustration knocked off the list. I used to work at KMart in the garden shop in high school. This is how we got the pigeons out! Fun times.

@rubeda @rubeda Love this idea! Great use of space. I love anything William Joyce. Dinosaur Bob was my favorite book as a kid.
You mentioned a critique -- only thing that may bring it more to life is providing more contrast around the characters. Maybe a grainy brush in 'screen' to lighten the space around them to make them pop. Would also separate the trees from behind from getting mushed in with the foreground.
Very atmospheric and a cool angle!

Trouble up ahead for this river.
-
@Asyas_illos Wow! As a fact, I have been solving puzzles lately, this is exactly the type of image I would love to solve (sure, after you fill the large white area with more… kitties? :P) . Good luck bringing this idea to life!

Hi, and a great 2023 to all!
I’m currently trying to get back on some form of drawing routine.
Of course, any year for me is the year of the Pig:
And as usual, I’m back to irish dance related graphics, this time a solo dress design for my daughter, that I am really struggling with:
I am ok with how the sketch turned out but all that has to be translated to clean vector for the embroidery machine, and I am a bit overwhelmed with the task ahead… and I also have to do some detail for the cuffs and the back of the dress… -
@Mia-Clarke Haha great how you made such unusual concept readable, I laughed out loud!
-
@kylebeaudette As usual these are delightful!
-
So I got a bit of a short notice that I was going to have a booth at Emerald City Comic Con this March, (Friend of mine gave me his). So I'm working on some of my Trolls to create a couple of little prints to sell to go along with the things I sold the last time I was at ECCC. Anyway, it's been a hot minute since I posted my work here so I wanted to get back into the groove on that.
-
I drew a corporate beaver.
-
@Jeremy-Ross your patterns are so much fun! Have you had success selling on sites like this before? I tried Red bubble for a while, but I didn't really make anything from it. I didn't know what I was doing though!
-
@Jeremiahbrown this is awesome!!!. I love the angle.
-
@Mia-Clarke LoL I feel like this is what all as illustrators are trying to avoid. His expression says it all!
-
@Tom-Harshberger your pigeon’s expression is good!
