Interior Environment Design critique
-
For the final assignment in the interior environment design course was to design a living room. I had an idea for another illustration years ago but didn’t know what to do with it. Well I decided to combine the two into one piece of work. It’s still a WIP since I would like to paint it but would love some feedback.
Thank you. -
@Bill-B This is so funny! Maybe it's just because I have 4 kids, but I got it immediately! Babies can get boogers anywhere! For the most part your illustration looks great! The perspective is believable, and the worm's eye view works well since the baby is the focus. The only thing I noticed that looks a little odd is the line right behind the mom's feet. At first I thought it was the base of the walls, but then noticed that the table legs were above it. It made the table look like it was floating until I realized that it's the edge of a rug. Right? Adding color and value might fix this problem, or you could just leave the line out. I think your illustration would work fine without it.

@kirsten-mcg Thank you for the response. You are correct about them edge of the rug. I think it will be more obvious with the wall, floor and rug being different colors. I still have a few more tweaks like the mothers hands but I’m glad the illustration reads well.

@Bill-B haha yes the mess kids can make and you wonder how they manage. Very clear. It looks great. Just wondering if you could do without the clock with it being right behind the lamp. It seems to be creating tangents (I think that's the jargon they use)?

@Chantal-Goetheer I do see that tangent. Thanks for spotting it.
