Finished my Kamari piece! (And 10 days before the deadline, which is a miracle considering I usually wait until the last minute.) I'm super excited with how it turned out, thank you again everyone that provided feedback!

@baileyvidler I wonder how you can convey the new beginning... is the kid running away from the dragon in fear or some other emotion? Just wondering what the prior story is and how you can show that. Like he's reached his breaking point at school and the bigger kid is chasing him on the dinosaur? Just wondering how you might create that tension of ending one thing and moving into the new adventure...
Not trying to make this harder, just offering a new angle to consider...

@ArtistErin I totally agree! It felt like something was missing in the story.
I ended up reworking the monsters to be more specific. So, Kamari is carrying a glowing magic crystal that she stole from inside the cave and the mushroom monsters are chasing her to get it back. (Keeping in line with my personal goal of introducing as many kids to D&D as possible!)
I think the trickiest thing here was walking the line of making the monsters look monster-y but not too scary.

@baileyvidler Yes I see a much clearer story and the problem Kamari is in, along with how she got there, who the opposing characters are, and what she is anticipating... I love your sketches BTW...

@baileyvidler This one is my favorite! It's very engaging with all the different emotions that are present. Also, I can tell whats happening without any explanation. Makes me want to follow Kamari and see where that dragon and rider are taking her. Interesting idea.
