What to use when you comission for someone outside US?

I am considering accepting a commission for an illustration for someone in Singapore. I am currently in the US. What payment method would you suggest using?
I think I've heard stories before that people accept money using Paypal, then the payer canceled the payment once the work is done.
What would be the safest app/platform to use to accept payment from someone in a different country? Does listing the sales on Ebay or Etsy sounds like a bad idea? I've heard some scary stories from ebay sellers too though ...

@hue Paypal is my go to. to avoid getting scammed, never send your work without receiving the payment.
