Anyone doing Inktober?

Hi everyone! So just curious if anyone is doing Inktober this year? I'm doing a variant this time, focusing on Filipino culture. I'm thinking of calling it Pinoytober. Not sure if someone has already thought of this. Most probably someone has. What about you guys? Any plans?

I'd like to try, but I'll be taking 3 university courses and working and mom to 2 Littles (8 and 5). I'm going to do as many as I can, but not put too much pressure on myself

I considered it this year! 5 more days to get my act together if I do... feeling slightly overwhelmed at the moment creating work for my website and freelance pet portrait biz. We shall see how things come together, good luck to you if you go for it! I love the Filipino idea

@AngelinaKizz Oof! that's definitely a lot but I look forward to seeing your work this inktober. I'm also not sure if I can complete this Inktober as I've failed the last few years. lolz But like you, I'll give it my best shot and see how much I can complete. All the best!!!

@Nyrryl-Cadiz I remember back in 2021 when I was working on my portfolio, and before I met you I was doing something similar. I might not be doing anything related to Filipino culture this year in terms of art or I don't know. I am just busy working on architecture and starting a side hussle lol

As october will be a difficult month this year, I want to try a simpler yet useful thing, some handwritten inky nice text, following the prompts. I got the idea after failing painfully on adding some nice text to the last svs challenge drawing….

I’ve been debating whether or not to do it but I have found a couple of non-official prompt lists that sound interesting, like fairy tale characters. Last year I did sea creatures which yielded a lot of beautiful pieces

I love your idea @Nyrryl-Cadiz ! I would love to see inky artwork about Filipino culture. I'm doing Inktober this year. I've been planning for a month already! I have to be super organized if I'm going to pull it off. I've never managed more than a handful of prompts in the past. This year I'm determined to make it to the end. I'm using the official Inktober prompt list, and interpreting each prompt as it would relate to the Wizarding World in Harry Potter.

I might make a few ink pieces for Inktober just to try. I haven't done an art challenge before, but having something I need to post on social media would help me remember

@Nyrryl-Cadiz I’m planning on it this year again. I’m doing two things: with my students I am doing one big picture with all the prompts, and then I am also going to work on my anatomy and figure drawing as well as character design by using poses from an anatomy book I bought to design figures based on the prompts. I am theming it to be adventure/steam punk. Quite a challenge and a lot of fun but that’s what I get to when I teach art for a living.

I already have my big pic sketched out ( and inked the first three prompts because (a) I was excited, and (b) I may not have time this weekend.

@Nyrryl-Cadiz With the exception of last year, I’ve been doing it since 2015… which restarted my love of drawing. Sometimes I used the prompts sometimes I just did my own daily thing. It’s not easy fitting it in, but I think I’ll try again. Good luck to you!
