300 dpi vs 720 dpi ?
-
Hello, so as I go back into my art career shortly after I was let go from my day job a month ago, I just had a question regarding DPI.
My standard drawings are always set at 300 dpi, but I noticed as I am drawing, I am very displeased by how unrefined my details are. I have been recently drawing 720 dpi for landscape and larger portraits I have been drawing so that I can reach the level of quality I am looking for my drawings, and in the end I am quite satisfied. They have that HD look I am looking for.
My question is will me working with 720 dpi Photoshop/Jpg/png/etc. files become an issue if I were to ever work with an agency? Or am should I be free to draw them in this quality?

You can work in what ever resolution suits your illustration needs. That being said, whoever you end up being contracted with will usually provide the resolutions or sizes they will need. You might want to just experiment with reducing the size of your finished images and see how they look and print out. Just remember to make a copy of your original.

@Michael-Angelo-Go An agency has no say and no preference in the size of your files. They're just relaying the specs their clients want, and as you know they're all different. You will likely have to resize files down to 300 dpi most often, and may lose detail then.
