Best watercolor brushes/effects for procreate?
-
Hi you guys!
Does anyone know of some awesome watercolor brushes for Procreate? I LOVE the live brushes ones in Fresco but don't love much else about Fresco.
TY!!!

@Martha-Sue I’m really enjoying the haze long watercolour brushes, I also but rusty nib and they have some watercolour brushes in the calligraphy pack that behave nicely, but I tend to choose the haze long over rusty nib for watercolour. The rusty nib calligraphy pack is quite lovely on its own, and it’s a huge selection of brushes, I just prefer how haze longs mimic watercolour more naturally.

@AngelinaKizz Hurray! Thank you so much

@Martha-Sue yes! Same here. Although I also LOVE the sketching pencil brush in Fresco. But not enough to switch over from Procreate. Most of my digital work is done in Procreate.
Watercolor brushes that I love and use almost every day are:
-
The Watercolor MaxPack by Max Ulichney (purchased from Gumroad, though you can also purchase directly from his website)
-
Watercolor brushes for Procreate 5 by Seamless Team (purchased from Creative Market)
Good all-around brush packs that I use often, both watercolor and pencil brushes, are:
-
Vivibrush 1 & 2 bundle by (purchased from Gumroad)
-
Joe's Brush Set 4 & 5 by Joe Lillington (purchased from Gumroad)
Of course, it should be said that everyone uses brushes differently and likes different effects from different brushes. These are brushes that I found work with my style and process ... and, to me, look as natural as possible. My goal is to make it almost indistinguishable, whether a piece was done traditionally or digitally.
And lastly, not sure if it helps or not, I'm attaching a few samples of work done with these brush sets:
Used primarily MaxPacks Watercolor and Vivibrush for this one. (Details were done with the Vivibrush HB pencil and colored pencil brushes.)
Same with this one.
This one was mainly done with the MaxPack Watercolor brush pack and the Seamless Team Watercolor brushes.Hope this helped! Please let us know how your search goes and please share some of the artwork you do with your new Procreate watercolor brushes!

I don’t use these often now because it’s not my style but they are amazing for beautiful salt effects and great pricing
I had to screen shots my po cuz I couldn’t remember where I’d gotten them

And here’s another set that has tons of really great ones
-
@Asyas_illos I don’t know if those prices are accurate, These were bought over a year ago.

@Melissa_Bailey Oh yeah, Joe's brushes can do what I need. Thank youuuu! I love to watch the ink move in fresco but it's a giant pain using the cloud documents because my internet is spotty. Can't imagine wanting to deal with that on a client project so I felt like I gotta find a better way and now you've brought me Joe!!

I use Adilson Farias's watercolor brushes. I've tried a number of kinds and also like MaxPack but Adilson Farias' brushes seem to mimic traditional best for me.
I have tried other apps that do a better job at generating the watercolor flow and blending of traditional watercolor than Procreate does but they are not nearly as good at all the other stuff Procreate does so I always come back to Procreate. I would love to see Procreate develop a wet in wet emulator, for example. Maybe someday!
