WIP tigers, oh my!
One of the cartoon characters of my comics is a tiger so I was happy to learn that 2022 was the year of the tiger and this month’s critique arena theme was tigers. I’ve been enjoying all the tiger work in progress posts that I wanted to share mine from a self-published book I’m currently drawing though I won’t be participating in the critique arena.
A bit of context: this is a panel in a story (obviously) where I add a little tribute to Calvin and Hobbes. It’s tough drawing in black and white only.

@danielerossi I was just enjoying my Calvin and Hobbes book as "looking for reference for the contest" research :))))
Franky is such a cu-cutie!

@danielerossi Super cute! I totally saw the Calvin and Hobbs vibes coming through, but there is just enough uniqueness to let it stand on it's own.
@duh So glad it can stand on its own! One of my worries is being seen as a copy. When I first started my comic a few years ago, it was common for people to associate my cartoon duo/tiger companion with Calvin and Hobbes.
