      Hiya all,

I'm just starting to have a think about the Tiger prompt but having a bit of creative block. I would like to emphasise their love of water and swimming. I had the idea of them jumping in a pool.

I like the idea of the crazy ways that dogs jump in water with sheer excitement so wanted the tigers to do this (1 adult and 2 cubs).

I would like the POV to be in the water as if you are looking up at them and they are going to land on you.

      I'm toying with two scenarios:

      1. The tigers have escaped their cage of a broken down travelling circus and have spotted the pool and are jumping into it. The kids in the pool are trying to flee, one has a kind of 'its behind me isn't it?' expression. I like this idea but I really don't like animals in circus so I'm a bit uncomfortable with it if that makes sense. Although it does have some storytelling element to it.

      2. Tiger turn up and disturb the peace in a jungle watering hole where all of the other animals are having a nice relaxing day in the pool.

Does anyone have any thoughts please? I really can't make my mind up. I not sure if I'm overcomplicating by having people/animals in the pool.

I'm not even 100% sure it's a decent concept to be honest. I think I just wanted to draw tigers jumping 🤣

      Thank you

@lizardillo love the idea of tigers playing in water and the from-the-water POV!

Yes, I agree. Concept #1 is disturbing. Not only because of the circus element, but because of the kids. It could read as placing children in a danger, and that might not be an image you want to include in your portfolio. However, this concept could work if you completely take out the circus -- just have the tiger jumping in the water without explaining where it came from. You might also want to try to take out the element of placing children in peril as much as possible. Is this just a tiger cub jumping in to join the kids and causing chaos? That might be fun, and wouldn't feel as dangerous.

Concept 2 could work as well. Are the tigers joining in the fun or are they hunting the other animals? Might want to make that absolutely clear somehow in the illustration, which could be as simple as the expression on the tiger's face or dressing them up in swim gear so it's clear that they're playing, not stalking.

Looking forward to seeing where you go with this! Fun ideas!

@melissa-bailey-0 yes they are meant to be having fun, no peril involved. A tiger is a predator so yes it would look like they were attacking them, good point! They would be wearing snorkels, inflatable rings etc. but looking at it now I can see it would be assumed it’s an ambush!

I might do the adult tiger teaching the cubs to swim, one is brave and leaping in and the other is unsure and reluctant to get into the water. POV in water still.
