      Hello all!

I'm a bit late to the party this month. I've been wanting to break into the contests for a while but never had the courage to do so until now. Even then it's taken me almost the entire month to get this off the ground.

This is Abby, my contest entry. She's a little girl, about 7-9, who loves the ocean and learning about the animals in it. My plan for Inktober is to develop images of the animals she'll encounter when she visits the aquarium.

This is the first time I've entered the contest, so even if I don't make the top 16, I'm proud of myself for getting this far.

What do you think? How could I improve this? The pose I had the most trouble on was the running one so any feedback on that one would be really appreciated.

Yayyy for entering the contest!! It can be a scary experience, but I'm so glad you're doing it! I love your character design. She seems like a person I would've wanted as a friend when I was younger. I'm also super impressed with your cross-legged sitting pose!

My suggestion would be to change the eyes so that they don't look so realistic. Also, her outfit has a lot of personality and I would love to see the same love shown to her shoes. I put in some simple circle shapes for the eyes and high top sneakers with high socks as an example. I also tried to tweak the running pose but I'm not sure if it's working any better, lol. Amazing work! Good luck in the contest! ❤ ❤ ❤

Thank you so much, I really appreciate your kind words about her. I feel like I could have been friends with her too😹

I love your critiques about the eyes and clothes, I'll give that a try! And thanks for the tweak on the run...that gave me so much trouble.
