Any Illustration Contests Going on this winter?
-
I want to enter an illustration contest, and I been looking for awhile. They all seem to have had deadlines in the summer. I can't find any for this winter or early next year.
Do you know of any going on soon?

You could always do a challenge like inktober or a DTIYS just for fun. Also don't forget the monthly SVS contests. The only competition that I know of for a cash prize is the Pokemon Trading card one that starts in October. But be carful of art contests, most of them these days are just major companies finding ways to have thousands of art submissions they get to choose from and only have to pay for one. Also make sure that you are not giving up ownership of your work. Some contests are evil.

There is the Kidlit411 banner contest going on right now. Deadline October 15th.
SCBWI has an ongoing monthly contest and an art spot contest. -
SCBWI also has their Narrative Art contest going on right now, open for submissions until October 20. The winner is given a free trip to their winter conference. Of course, for SCBWI contests, you need to be a member to participate.

@K-Flagg I agree. I try to discourage my own students from doing a lot of contests for that very reason. @Frost-Drive I'd recommend just doing stuff for fun right now, like Inktober or Slowvember.
