New to SVSLearn

Hello! I'm a latecomer to the world of art. I picked up a pencil for the first time about two months ago (if you don't include scribbling a hand-written to-do list ever few years), and have quickly fallen in love with the flow state drawing puts me in. In my new-found quest to immerse myself in the world of art, I quickly discovered the 3 Point Perspective podcast, which has gotten me intrigued by illustration and pointed me to SVSLearn.
Until now, I've been following tutorials online, drawing random objects around the house, and busting out quick figure sketches from photo reference. The idea of drawing a full-scale illustration from imagination sounds at once magical and extremely intimidating.
For now my goals are, first and foremost, not to give up (!), second, to build a strong foundation in the fundamentals, and third, to overcome my fear of drawing something real, besides grinding on exercises.
I have a whole lot to learn, and am really looking forward to learning some of that from and with all of you!

Welcome! I'm sure you will enjoy reading the forum, as I do, and if you put the time in on the lessons you will see so much progress. Good luck!

Welcome to drawing! I bet you're gonna love it! Then maybe hate it.. Then love it again! You've found yourself in a great community here.

Thanks for the warm welcome, @Lisa-Clark and @Tristan-Lapetz! I'm hoping being active in the forums might help me get through the rocky 'hating it' phases!

@sam-draws I think it will! What helps me in those phases too is simply keeping a chart of the general amount of time I dedicate to art. It feel great to see that climb and then once you start falling off from lack of motivation, you can really see it visually which helps me at least to catch myself and make sure I don't drop below a certain threshold that might indicate I'm about to spiral downward and possible further away from art.

@sam-draws welcome to the forum!
