      Does anyone have a story of how their art has been successfully licensed to a manufacturer through an agent or by you contacting a manufacturer directly?

      I studied Gina Jane's course and have art I can start to license. I am aiming at the children's market for products.

      The next step to contact someone who knows how licensing works is my next challenge. Honestly, I don't know how to move forward and I would really appreciate guidance because this feels like a huge mountain to climb and I need a mentor. Is there anyone who can help show me the way?

        I have had pieces licensed in the past. You need to understand the contract, the terms and what you are agreeing to especially if it involved foreign rights.

        Spend the money and see a visual arts attorney to go through the contract.

        Remember, until you sign it is only a proposal and proposals can be negotiated and changed.

          @jimsz Okay, yeah, good advice thanks jimsz. How did you make first contact with the people who licensed your art?

              @Judy-Elizabeth-Wilson

              My initial contact with the licensing company was through a post card mailing.
