August 2024 Submissions - How To Fix Your Art
-
@Karen-Hobart Love this - great idea!
-
Hi friends, I almost didn't get to participate this month (my process is still very long and chaotic) but I'm looking forward to receiving feedback from Mr. Parker, Mr. Terry and Mr. White.
-
Hey I think I didn’t post my first submission at the right place! My name is Sarah and I’m used to draw food.

I very nearly didn't do this months prompt until I got an idea just as I was falling asleep. So I had to do it. It was actually advantageous because in order to get it done really quickly it forced me to try a significantly looser style which was a massive challenge for me. I like to render and noodle away, often to my detriment. So it was a great learning experience to try and be looser. Anyway, this was a hard one, but I'm loving the entries so far. See you on the stream.

@MarcRobinson Brilliant idea!!!! I love it, especially as we go to comicon too how did this not occur to me? I love how it works even without the explanatory text, just a "comicon" bag would have been enough:)))))
-
@Oana thanks! I was in two minds about having the text. I'm glad it works without it too.

August 2024 SVS submission from Tracy La Rue Hohn
-
@MarcRobinson awesome
-
This was a little tricky one. I wanted to try middle grade illustration style.
-
Hi guys, here’s my submission, done traditionally in watercolour and ink on Arches paper (and put in the prompt in Procreate)
Not sure if it reads but the prompt was a bit tricky… have a lovely day, everyone! -
My submission for HTFYA August:
It was a tough one but I had loads of fun! Thank you!
-
@Ayesha-Masood hey thanks!
-
-
@ruth Thanks!!
-
@Nina-van-Ryn Wow! This is really good storytelling. Yes it reads perfectly: little girl processing grief.
-
@Nina-van-Ryn I understood this too…what a clever and beautiful take on the prompt!
-
@Reb-Erlik thanks for the feedback, I’m so glad it reads. I was going for this feeling when you think the world should stop but it just keeps spinning… admittedly a bit dark but many people know it I’m afraid… ️🩹
-
@annastenger thank you so much! I’m glad … when you’re in your own little world it’s clear and obvious but you never know what other people make of it
-
@Nina-van-Ryn It reads very well and it does fit the prompt in an unexpected sad take... Beautifully done!!
