Introducing Myself!
-
Hi all! My name is Millie, and I'm so excited to be a part of this community after listening to the podcast for a while. I'm an illustrator and artist who's been drawing and painting for over 10 years, mostly favoring pen, ink and watercolor, though more recently I've been dipping my brush into acrylic with more of an interest in a painterly style. I really don't quite have a style yet, or even quite know where I'd like to go with my art, with a love for many different forms of art (digital, traditional, character illustration, absolutely landscape) but I am excited nonetheless to be able to engage and meet with other artists here to learn as much as I can. I'll share my landscape art here, which I think holds some of my strongest pieces, but more can be found on my instagram at Millustrations_Art. I'd take any and all criticism and advice!
These two are from a few years ago, in a landscape painting class in college, since I haven't done much art since then.
These two are both practice sketches I've been doing as a part of the John Stone Art Challenges to help practice a quicker grasp on compositions, and try and be less perfectionistic.
And finally, here's a house portrait I did recently in watercolor and ink that captures a good part of my interest in landscape and buildings after illustrating several buildings for a few smaller books.

Hi Millie,
Welcome! You sound a lot like me, in regards to the having painted/drawn for a while, watercolor/ink, and exploring your style etc. I really like your work! It's been a minute since I've been on IG, but I'm considering getting back on a posting little projects, I'll try to remember to check you out.
I have found everyone here very helpful, and more recently I have been participating in the HTFYA challenges, which has given me a concrete goal to reach each month with actual feedback.
Hope to see ya around! -
Wow! Some really lovely works you got here! Very tight and detailed. I always love these architecture/environment drawings. I wish more people do this kind of more "classical" illustrations. I also love the studies you did in instagram. Not that many people are more interested in scenery/landscape, and I quite like the direction you are going. I especially love the textures on your traditional media paintings!
Anyways, welcome and make yourself at home
