Storytelling?

Would you consider these illustrations as “story telling”? I understand they are not your usual “children’s book” style that have a traditional narrative. These are by Guy Billout.

@ThomCharles I think these would be editorial pieces.

@AngelinaKizz Thank you! I guess I’ll focus on a more narrative story telling style.

@ThomCharles This is interesting... it reminds me of a book I just bought from the National Gallery of Art:
And it seems to push this same concept, that graphic designers and editorial illustrators are indeed "storytelling" with these types of images and I'm not sure I agree...If you ask me, they are bringing a concept to life visually which I understand to be a different animal than telling a story with a picture.
Just my two cents though

I feel like the top image doesn't have much of a story, but the bottom three definitely do, especially the one of the man lifting up the ocean to find a key. Even editorial work tells stories. Just in a different way from kids books. I feel like these images lean more towards editorial. But if they included children, they could be for a kid's book! Look up the book "Let's do Everything and Nothing" by Julia Kuo. It's a recently published picture book with a style very similar to these illustrations!
