@notfitkid Thanks Albert, I'm flattered that someone of your caliber has faith in me....all us artists need all the support we can get!

This is a great piece Albert! I love your work and will miss seeing it in the forums and contests. I hope to be able to achieve such stunning illustrations as you have. Thanks for all the inspiration.

@notfitkid As your work is so awesome, I am wondering what were the major things that you learned throughout the year that really helped your process, and what advice would you give to those that have recently joined?

I don’t think the text is necessary, I actually find it a bit distracting. The splashing water feels a little bit too much like it’s just a splatter effect from a brush. It might just be because some of the splashes are really sharp while most of the rest of the image is a bit softer so softening them up a smidge could help. Otherwise this piece looks amazing, fantastic work!

@Griffin Thank you for your helpful critique! You are right on about the text. It was honestly just thrown in there as a place holder and not given enough thought. Per your suggestions, I will probably end up removing it completely. In regards to the brush strokes/pattern in the foreground, I decided to keep them sharp to contrast with the elements in the background to help accentuate the sense of depth, dramatic lighting, and motion. I agree that the brush pattern does look somewhat formulaic/predictable though. I think I will have to add motion blur them slightly to make them feel integrated. Thanks again! Your suggestions were super helpful!

@notfitkid whoa I love the detailing on the light whisps that come off the sword

@AngelinaKizz Thank you, Angelina! I appreciate your kind words! I believe that you have already produced beautiful pieces! I loved your take on Riley and your recent treehouse. They were so creative and exuded so much personality. I am eager to see what you all produce in the coming months

@notfitkid thankyou, that means a lot Albert!

@notfitkid I wanted to write the same as Griffin. I think the text is not necessary, maybe some fish silhouettes jumping out of the water could enforce the action and motion and balance the composition instead.
But the piece is absolutely gorgeous, it brings me right into the scene. I can feel the water splashs! -
@notfitkid Albert do you create your work from start to finish with digital apps?
