Basic Perspective Drawing final woes

Hi all,
I enjoyed the Basic Perspective Drawing class a lot and I could overall get all the assignments done. But for the final, I found myself having such a hard time setting up the grid over which I was to draw the room! I just couldn't. I wanted to try printing out a grid and then taking a picture, then printing that out, but I didn't get around to that. I kept thinking that I needed to figure out how to set up the grid myself. I have since moved on (I did do a rendering of the room, although nothing like how I set out to make it), but I still think that learning how to do that would be such an invaluable skill, and would like to go back to give it another try.
Does anyone have any tips and tricks to setting up the grid?

@eyedoono It would help us if you posted your work. Then we could see what you did right and where you had difficulty. Don't be afraid to show your work. You want to grow and we want to help you do that.

Yes, it would help to post your work! Are you working traditionally or digitally? It's good that you are willing to come back to it. Sometimes you just need a break from a subject and keep coming back to it periodically before it starts making sense.

@eyedoono This was so hard for me too. It was like a mental gap I couldn't span. It took me so long to be able to start forming the room. Don't feel bad! The best way I could describe what worked for me was starting by drawing the cubes farthest away that represent the furniture pieces farthest away spaced appropriately using the floor grid first. Then use that to create the wall grid as I built it from the ground up. Hope that makes sense, and can help. Good luck!
