How to promote my art without social media

I hate social media. However I want to promote my graphic novel as I work on it.

It’s so distracting, and I can’t stop doomscrolling, especially as a Jew, given all the wars in Israel and the rise of global antisemitism.

Additionally, I find myself wasting time on activities that are completely unproductive.

Are there ways to promote my art without using social media? Alternatively, should I consider hiring someone to manage it for me?

One idea I had was to use WhatsApp status. Since my comic is geared toward the Jewish community, and WhatsApp is a primary form of communication there, I could develop a small audience and potentially spread my work through text and word of mouth.

If you have any other suggestions, I’d love to hear them, as social media always brings out the worst in me, and I really can’t handle it responsibly.I hate social media.

I think you need to take a break from social media, or find different circles within social media apps where you can less experience that.

Social media in general harbors a lot of toxicity and inappropriate negativity in itself. A lot of people love drama, and because we hide behind computers and our phones, it gives us the sense of liberty and security to reveal the darkest and cruelest sides of ourselves.

But back to your original question, are you sure the problem is social media, and not perhaps you're hanging around the wrong users?

@Ari-Sorokin i'm trying to find other ways of building a career without social media. it's not good for my mental health and i've taken breaks and returned many different times to understand that stays the same for me. i'm not sure what the answer is, to be honest. the algorithm is toxic and we get lost in that sea unless you have a huge fan base and perhaps have mad skills. i did hop on Cara for a time and that felt a bit better as it's all art. but not sure if that would help you promote your work effectively enough. or if that's the right audience. all in all i'm with ya...it's tough without it.
