Establishing shots in Comics

I heard from a well established cartoonist that every page in a comic should have an establishing shot. I am currently writing the script for a webcomic and feel that adding establishing shot in every scene can bog down the pacing. Any tips on improving establishing shots and or if they're needed.

@ksfabian Every page would be overkill, but it’s a good rule of thumb that each scene should contain an establishing shot.
