Should I have a separate instagram account for my illustrations for children's books?

Hi to my SVS Family,
For those that also do traditional paintings/artworks that are totally different to illustrating for children's books.
What do you do when it comes to social media? etc Instagram
I currently have an instagram account and my children's book illustrations are mixed in with my other artworks like illustrations on domestic violence (a series I am doing) , traditional paintings, portraits etc. Everything at the moment is all on one instagram account.
If I am wanting to seriously delve into illustrating for children's books and try and get recognition as that kind of artist, should I have an entirely separate instagram account for only that and keep my other artworks completely separate?
Thoughts??

@HollyOakley I think you should separate them if you don't think the domestic violence paintings you are doing are appropriate for your primary Instagram. If it's really different or not age-appropriate compared to your other work, I don't see a problem in creating another Instagram.
I split my Instagram accounts all the time on Instagram. I have individual accounts for my selfies, architecture, toy customizing, digital art, and traditional art. Lol

@Michael-Angelo-Go Thanks for your feedback. So how do you go about getting a following (so to speak) on so many different accounts? Does that pose a problem at all?
-
@HollyOakley I think It really depends on how active you are on each account.
Like the accounts that have the least amount of followers were usually the ones where I am less active. Idk if I have the best authority to speak on this though.
I am not one of the super-popular artists on Instagram anyway.

I have two separate accounts, one for personal and one for illustration. I rarely post on my personal, and somehow the IG algorithm crossed over and has linked both. Not sure how to navigate this! Not sure how this works but could it be IG makes suggestions and this is the result?

I use a separate Instagram for my comics and children's book stuff.
Comic: KatrinaComics
Kids books: KJF.IllustrationMy comic is more adult otherwise I'd have them together.

I too have two accounts, one personal and one professional. I've also known other artists who have both a fine art account and a kidlit focused account.
