WIP feedback

Hey everyone!
Just need some feedback on this WIP. There’s a few specific issues I have in mind but they’re the sorts of things you might not notice unless a bring I mention it so it might be better to look at the illustration first, see what issues stand out and then read what I have below.
So my brother said he thinks the characters on the left and right look sort of disconnected from the scene, like they’re not engaged in what’s going on because they’re focused on something off screen. Do any of you feel the same? I intentionally made them focused on something we can’t see because it gives a sense of more going on outside the frame which I really like.
I’m also wondering if the skeleton and gremlin climbing up the platform are too hard to see, I don’t want them to be a huge focal point but I also don’t want them to disappear. There’s plenty of other things that are off right now, like the text not being very readable. Don’t worry about that stuff. I just want to make sure I get any larger issues out of the way like posing characters differently and what not.
Thanks!

@Griffin-McPherson I’m afraid I’d agree with your brother on that note, they all seem a bit out of sync. personally I’d like to see them a bit more huddled together working as a unit, and I’d kinda like to see the face of the character in the back too. I realize it’s not always necessary or realistic for every character in this type of scenario but it’s my preference. The character in the back was actually my biggest issue at first since he’s facing the largest monster I feel like it’s important to know who he or she is.

@Asyas_illos hmm, I’m trying to think if there’s a way to better show that they’re working together. My concern with having them closer together is that it could lead to a lot of overlaps and feel too congested.

@Griffin-McPherson this image reminds me of a video I watched, spa studios tricks and tips with marcin jakubowski. He reworks four characters and a branch that flows similar to your tentacle… I think you might find it interesting if it’s not helpful.
