Exterior Perspective drawing

I really enjoyed David Hohns class on Perspective.
I'm Working on an exterior 3 point Perspective of a church ruin near my house. This church burnt in 1968 and the ruins remain a popular photo location. Went old school pencil and paper on this one, and boy oh boy, Perspective is tricky when you need multiple sheets of paper and a meter stick to make it work! -
@AngelinaKizz Woah, that looks really cool. I'm looking forward to taking this class! It's so satisfying to make all those marks and line everything up (or is it just me? haha)
-
@AngelinaKizz Great drawing.
-
@Meekipink thanks!!! My city isn't very interesting visually, but this church is quite something. I'm glad they never tore it down.
Perspective is super satisfying. That's definitely something about a ruler and a piece of paper. I would recommend though, a clear ruler.

@PenAndrew thanks!!! I'm really happy with it.

Very beautiful, not too stiff with lots of personality!
-
Looks awesome! I’m currently taking mastering perspective right now and looking forward to cementing the knowledge in my brain.
-
@Larue thankyou!!

@Solomon-Designs I was always scared of perspective. I bought a bunch of books before I knew about svs and they were about clear as mud. I'm taking university courses at night because I'd love a degree on my wall and critiques with every piece I submit... but my prof was trying to teach perspective on Tuesday night and it was honestly worse than mud. I knew what was going on, because I took the svs perspective classes. Man I'm grateful for this community.

@AngelinaKizz Wow, you're doing such a great job with this! I totally know the hassle of the meter stick and the paper but what a great piece of art you'll have in the end!
-
@AngelinaKizz nice! I understand wanting a degree on the wall. That’s what I did with graphic design which got me use to critiques and did get me a job but not doing what I love lol This community is such a blessing! I want to keep posting my stuff in the forum for critique but I’ve been feeling a little fragile lately lol next piece I’m posting no matter what.
-
This is awesome! I know what you mean about perspective being so satisfying to work on. It almost feel like cheating when it turns out looking so perfect! It's not just you.
-
@Kristen-Lango thanks!!! I'm excited to see the final, I'm not sure I want to remove the perspective lines, I quite like them.
@Solomon-Designs I look forward to seeing what you create when you're feeling ready to share. I love the work you've posted. I really loved the fox in the Forrest.

@AngelinaKizz Yes, I like work that retains the original pencil marks, this is where digital falls flat- as it has no visible signs of a human being having created it! It has to artificially recreate that.
-
@PenAndrew I like to reduce opacity on my eraser of I'm working digitally to retain that pencil vibe.
-
@AngelinaKizz Did you learn that from Will Terry? He mentions that in Jump into the Studio. Ha ha.
-
@PenAndrew I'm not sure if it was will, or Aaron Blaise that i saw do it first, but I do like the method!
-
@AngelinaKizz I must admit I am surprised that the marks still show.
