My name is Kayleen Sokol, my family and some others calls me Kaylee. I am 22, and I am hoping to become a freelance illustrator. I would love to make children’s books, graphic novels/webcomics, and maybe someday storyboard for an animated show or make my own animated show on YouTube.
I grew up in Lancaster, PA until I was 16 and my family moved to Utah.
I was an illustration student at UVU for 6 semesters, but I’ve been on a break for a year now after getting married in July, moving to a new apartment twice, working on mental/physical health, and looking into other options of getting my education and training in illustration. That’s why I decided to finally sign up for SVSLearn in mid-January 2022.
I’ve made almost 500 posts on instagram, but I’ve been less active lately. I also dabble in TikTok and YouTube. A lot of the artwork on my instagram is not great, but I keep it on my account anyway because I’m sentimental and I like to see if I’ve improved overtime, or if I’ll be inspired to try something similar for a new project. And it’s nice that they have dates on everything.
I had awful art block for quite a few years, but now there is so much I want to do, practice, improve, and create and I want to make the most of every month this year doing that!
